Night Photography Workshop

Sydney Photographic Workshops offers a night photography course in the stunning Greater Sydney area of NSW, Australia. This course takes place on various Thursday or Friday nights, running from 6pm to 9pm during regular time and 7pm to 10pm during daylight saving.

The experience begins with a harborside briefing from a professional photographer, followed by an exploration of the vibrant Sydney Harbour and its surroundings as the city lights come on. You will learn to manipulate your camera manually, mastering techniques such as long exposure, light painting, and capturing light trails.

This 3-hour workshop is suitable for both beginners and enthusiasts, providing a fun and exciting introduction to photography or an opportunity to refine your skills. All you need is a Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera with full manual controls, a sturdy tripod, and an appetite for learning.

Some of the topics that may be covered include shooting neon signs, night landscapes, portraits, long exposure techniques, working with available light, and composition. By the end of the course, you will have gained a new perspective on night photography and a set of skills to help you capture stunning postcard-quality images.

To participate, bring along your camera, tripod, lenses, a torch, lens hood, memory card, fully charged battery, camera manual, and dress comfortably with sensible shoes. Note that a tripod is essential for this workshop.
