Maruku Arts, a not-for-profit art and craft corporation, has been a proud Indigenous Tourism Champion for over 30 years, showcasing and preserving the ancient culture of the Anangu people from the Central and Western deserts of SA. As a regional art center, Maruku represents and promotes Anangu culture and art, providing a direct link between Anangu heritage and tourism in the Uluru & surrounds area.
Maruku invites you to join them in a 1.5-hour Dot Painting workshop, where you will be introduced to the unique desert art form and learn about the symbols and painting styles used to create beautiful works of art depicting the Creation time (Tjukurpa) stories. This cultural immersion experience offers a fulfilling and inspiring time for all ages and genders, allowing you to complete your own story in painting as a memento of your experience.
By offering this experience, Maruku Arts contributes to the sustainability of Aboriginal culture, the world''s oldest living culture, and plays a key role in keeping traditional cultural practices strong and alive throughout the Anangu lands. Join Maruku on a guided cultural tour, a cultural exploration tour, or a cultural walking tour, and discover the rich cultural heritage of the Anangu people.
At We Wander, we are proud to partner with Maruku Arts, an organization that is committed to excellence and dedicated to educating visitors about Anangu culture and history. By participating in Maruku''s cultural experiences, you will not only learn about Aboriginal art and traditions but also cultivate respect and understanding for this ancient culture and its differences to our own.
Experience the unique cultural landmarks and sightseeing opportunities in the Uluru & surrounds area with Maruku Arts, and immerse yourself in the world of Anangu heritage and traditions.
