Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary And Ships Graveyard Tour

Discover the beauty and history of Garden Island, located in the Greater Adelaide region of South Australia, with Seven Senses Adventures. This unique experience offers a scenic kayak tour through the Ships'' Graveyard, where you''ll find 26 abandoned vessels that tell a significant story of the state''s maritime history.

Seven Senses Adventures has carefully selected each tour date to coincide with low tide, allowing for optimal viewing and safe navigation of the creek with minimal tidal movement. As you paddle through the Dolphin Sanctuary, you''ll have a high chance of spotting the 30 resident Port River Bottlenose Dolphins and up to 400 transient dolphins.

Your journey will take you through secluded and peaceful creeks covered by a 10,000-year-old mangrove forest, where you''ll see schools of fish swimming past your kayak. Before embarking on this adventure, you''ll receive a kayaking brief and tips to prepare you for the shipwrecks, dolphins, and mangrove creek paddle.

Seven Senses Adventures provides very stable double or single Oru folding kayaks, multifit lifejackets, adjustable paddles, drybags, cool drinks, and homemade nutritious snacks. Your guide, a qualified and experienced kayaking instructor and former TAFE Outdoor Educator, will also provide commentary on the history of the shipwrecks.

This tour caters to a maximum of 10 clients, with a minimum number required for the trip to proceed. Children aged 12 to 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Kayaks have a maximum height and weight limit, so please check the FAQs.

What to bring:

* Kayaking clothes to suit the weather

* Light rain jacket/spray jacket

* Enclosed shoes: wetsuit boots, old sandals, old sandshoes (no thongs as muddy banks)

* Broad brimmed hat

* Sunglasses (with strap)

* Beach towel

* Spare clothes/shoes to change into afterwards

* Water bottle
