Ever since Chris Western was a little kid he loved off road racing and while working in resorts in Port Douglas, Chris decided to give the general public the opportunity to drive off road V8 Buggies with him as your navigator and this is where Off Road Rush was born in 2003.Chris Western signed on with Mickey Thompson Tires Australia, as Brand Ambassador and Sponsored Driver in 2009, and so the Off Road Rush Mickey Thompson Race Team was born, a partnership that is still on going today. Chris has four Class Championships in the "Australian Off Road Championship Series", completing the iconic Finke Desert Race numerous times, as well as Chris's career highlight the 2014 Score International Baja 1000 in Mexico, the pinnacle of off road racing from racers around the world.In 2015 James and Leigh Rolton, who loved off road racing, sold several business in New Zealand and moved to Australia with their daughter Grace to be part of the Off Road Rush family, this is when Off Road Rush Sydney was born! James and Leigh went on to expand their business taking the Off Road Rush experience to Ballarat (VIC) and Mannum (SA). After several years of travelling the country, they decided it was time to take a break.In August 2019, Shane and Penny Ramsay decided it was their turn to step up and share the love of Off Road Racing with the people and visitors of Sydney.As a small boy, Shane had great memories of growing up watching his Dad (Len) race at the Colo Heights and Howes Valley tracks back in the early days of Off Road Racing in Australia. With a wife who shared his passion for motorsport, returning to his childhood dreams fast became a reality and Shane, with Penny as navigator, began competing throughout NSW.In 2018 Penny started also competing as a driver and was awarded NSW Rookie Of The Year, taking out an impressive 4th place in the NSW state championships.To now have the opportunity to share the adrenaline and excitement of Off Road Racing with the public, is a dream come true for both Shane and Penny, who look forward to many years of putting smiles on people's faces. At Off Road Rush Sydney, our aim is to give you the opportunity to drive V8 buggies (the most extreme race cars on dirt), a turbo WRX rally car, or the new Yamaha YXZ. If driving isn't your thing then we also offer the most thrilling hot laps / passenger rides in Australia.Our instructors are the best you will find and their priorities are simple; they want to keep you safe and ensure you have a heap of fun.
